Meeting Minutes:  4-3-2010?

B. Treasurers Report - Cal Posthuma provided a proposed budget. Total income projected.and expenses. Dennis Hoyle motioned to approve the report, Martin Doney seconded and a vote was taken and approved.

C. New Members I Applications for three new members were taken by Cal. The new inductee’s are Tim Keeton, Bud Green and Nathan Schmoekel. Each applicant was accepted by vote and all were approved.

B. New Business?

1.  Vista contest – Last meeting Martin Doney suggested that we hold two monthly contests, one regular contest as we have done in years past and the Vista one-design contest. He further suggested that we consider holding a Wednesday night contest two and use the best of the month standings for each flyer when calculating year-end standings. The proposal was made to the membership and discussed. It was decided that there would be a Vista one design contest on the 1st Wednesday or the 1st Saturday of each month. Flyer’s could choose to fly one or both and pick the best day to submit as there entry for the month.  ?A vote was taken and the contest format and schedule was approved.

2.  Cheap Trainer Sailplane – During the last meeting we discussed the need for an inexpensive trained sailplane for new members to learn to fly. This would be a simple foam sailplane and cheap radio assembled and ready to fly so that guests would have something they could learn on. Martin Doney donated a TG-3 sailplane that will work for a club trainer. It needs a new battery. He also had an inexpensive JR radio to donate, it also needs a new battery.  Dennis said he had a 600 ma pack that would be perfect for the radio.

3.  Flying Field – Sue De Boer has graciously agreed to allow us to continue using the club field, even though Harry and her have parted ways. I made the suggestion that we should give her a gift. A $50 gift certificate was suggested. A vote was taken and approved. Dennis will obtain a gift card and present it to Sue DeBoer.

4.  The club website needs a way to have a contest signup form. Dennis proposed two possibilities, RS forms ($28), a simple form software or RS Events $74, an event registration module. Martin Doney proposed that we purchase the RS Event module for $74, a vote was taken and we will purchase the software.
